# Providers

> Configure coding agents, provider credentials, CLI binaries, and provider environment variables.

Providers settings control the coding agents and providers Traycer can launch.

## Common Controls

| Control                            | What it changes                                                 |
| ---------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enable provider**                | Makes an agent path available or unavailable.                   |
| **API key**                        | Adds or clears credentials for providers that need a key.       |
| **CLI binary**                     | Chooses bundled, detected, or custom CLI paths where supported. |
| **Provider environment variables** | Adds variables scoped to the provider Traycer launches.         |
| **Terminal-agent arguments**       | Sets default CLI arguments for Terminal Agents.                 |
| **Host selector**                  | Chooses which host's provider settings you are editing.         |

Provider environment variables live here. Shell-wide host environment variables live in [Shell](/settings/shell).

Terminal-agent arguments are passed to the underlying CLI. Use bypass or full-auto flags deliberately.
